Accident Details
According to the pilot, during the landing the airplane bounced and began drifting to the left. In response, the pilot applied opposite control inputs, describing the action as an "overcorrection." This resulted in a ground loop, after which the airplane departed the right side of the runway. The aircraft subsequently struck a dirt berm.
Aircraft Damage
Upon impact with the berm, both main landing gear collapsed. An examination by a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector found structural damage to the right wing. The pilot reported that there were no anomalies with the airplane prior to the accident.

The pilot attributed the sequence of events to his own overcorrection during the landing roll. No other factors were mentioned in the report.
