Incident Details
A passenger flight was descending into the airport terminal area from 34,000 feet mean sea level (msl) with the seat belt sign on. While flight attendants were securing the galley, the airplane encountered turbulence. The pilot reported that the turbulence occurred somewhere between 10,000 and 18,000 feet msl.
Flight Attendant Injuries
During the turbulence, one flight attendant fell into another, causing the second flight attendant to hit her head and fracture a rib. The flight continued to its destination and landed without further incident.
Post-Landing Response
After landing, paramedics met the airplane at the gate, and the injured flight attendant was carried off the airplane.
Meteorological Information
No significant meteorological information (SIGMET) was issued prior to the event. There was no damage to the airplane.
