What happened
On May 4, 2010, a Boeing 747-300 operated by Southern Air Transport was performing a rejected takeoff at Incheon Airport in Seoul, South Korea. During the aborted takeoff sequence, four tires burst. The aircraft sustained minor damage during the event, and there were no injuries reported.
The investigation
The Korean Aviation & Railway Accident Investigation Board (ARAIB) is conducting the investigation. As the United States is the state of manufacture for the aircraft, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to participate in the ARAIB investigation in accordance with ICAO Annex 13. The aircraft involved was registered as N749SA.
