Incident Overview
On September 20, 2010, at approximately 1:00 PM local time, a Hungarian Airlines Boeing 737-600, registration HA-LOE, was conducting a takeoff from Budapest Ferihegy International Airport (LHBP) in Budapest, Hungary. The flight was destined for Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (EFHK) in Helsinki, Finland. During the takeoff roll, at about 95 knots, the aircraft experienced a yaw event. The crew subsequently aborted the takeoff.
Occupants and Consequences
There were 6 crew members on board. No injuries were reported, and the aircraft was not damaged.
Investigation
The incident is being investigated by the Hungary Transportation Safety Bureau (TSB). Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the investigation, as the United States is the State of Registration of the Operator and State of Manufacturer.
