Accident Sequence
The pilot of a tail-wheel equipped airplane reported that a pilot-rated passenger performed a normal wheel landing. During the landing roll, the airplane drifted to the right. The pilot could not correct the drift with left rudder input, so he applied the left brake. This application caused both pilots to brace themselves, and they inadvertently depressed both sets of brake pedals simultaneously. The brakes locked, and the airplane nosed over.
Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the wings, fuselage, and vertical stabilizer.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that there were no mechanical anomalies with the airplane.
Weather Conditions
The wind reported at the airport about the time of the accident was from 230 degrees at 4 knots.
