Accident Overview
On January 21, 2011, at approximately 0049 universal coordinated time, two Cessna 172 airplanes collided in midair and subsequently impacted terrain. The aircraft involved were Korean registered HL1080, operated by Korea Aerospace University, and HL1127, operated by Hanseo University. Both were being flown by solo student pilots, who were fatally injured. The airplanes sustained substantial damage.
