What happened
On January 21, 2011, at approximately 0049 UTC, a midair collision occurred involving two Cessna 172 aircraft near Uljin Airport, South Korea. The aircraft involved, Korean registered HL1080 and HL1127, were being operated by Korea Aerospace University and Hanseo University, respectively.
Following the collision, both aircraft struck the terrain, resulting in substantial damage to both planes. The two solo student pilots on board were 2 fatal.
