On February 9, 2011, at approximately 1615 Pacific Standard Time, a midair collision occurred near Mission, British Columbia, involving two Cessna 150 aircraft, C-FVXY and C-GZUB, during a planned formation flight that included four airplanes.

Following the collision, the two aircraft separated. The aircraft with registration C-GZUB glided to a landing in a farm field, and the occupants were not injured. However, the aircraft with registration C-FVXY broke apart and fell into a shallow slough. Both occupants of C-FVXY sustained 2 fatal injuries.
