A weight shift aircraft impacted a hangar after the pilot lost directional control during landing due to turbulent wind from nearby buildings.

Incident Overview

According to the pilot's account, the wind at the time of takeoff was light and variable. After spending a few minutes airborne, the pilot attempted two landings, both of which were aborted with go-arounds. On the third approach, the pilot reported that the alignment appeared satisfactory, but as the aircraft neared touchdown, turbulence caused by buildings adjacent to the runway affected the wind conditions.

Loss of Control

Following touchdown, the pilot lost directional control of the weight shift aircraft. The aircraft then veered to the right and subsequently collided with a hangar. The impact resulted in a bent keel beam on the aircraft.

Aircraft Damage

The keel beam of the weight shift aircraft sustained bending damage during the collision with the hangar.
