What happened
On October 15, 2011, at 1933 UTC, a Bell 412SP, registration YVO126, was performing a business flight when it collided with trees during its approach to Macagua Airport (SVMA) in Santa Rosa, Venezuela. The flight had departed from Aerodromo La Paragua (SVGA) in Bolivar, Venezuela, at 1843 UTC.
At the time of the accident, weather conditions were within visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 10 statute miles and winds of 070 degrees at 03 knots. No flight plan had been filed for the flight. The aircraft, operated by Electrificacion del Caroni (EDELCA), was destroyed in the impact.
