Accident Details
On October 11, 2019, at approximately 1147 coordinated universal time, a Bell Helicopter 412EP, registered as SU-CBX, impacted the sea about 65 miles north of Port Said City, Egypt. The helicopter lost control in flight prior to the impact.
Occupants and Damage
The helicopter was carrying two pilots and three passengers. No injuries were reported among the occupants. The helicopter sustained substantial damage.
Operation and Investigation
The flight was conducted under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Egypt. The Egyptian Aircraft Accident Investigation Directorate is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacturer of the helicopter, the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist in the investigation.
