Accident Overview
On November 11, 2011, a Eurocopter AS 332L Super Puma helicopter, bearing Mexican registration XC-UHM, crashed in a rural area south of Mexico City. The aircraft was operated by Fuerza Aerea Mexicana (Presidential Use) and was en route from Camp Marte, Mexico to Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Occupants and Fatalities
The helicopter was carrying eight passengers and crew members, all of whom were fatally injured as a result of the crash.
Investigation
The investigation is being conducted by the Mexican Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). At the request of the Mexican Government, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist with the investigation.
