Circumstances
On June 21, 2012, at 1332 UTC, a Reims Aviation F-150L, bearing Austrian registration OE-ATV, was destroyed when it departed controlled flight and struck terrain approximately 3 miles east of Strasswalchen, Austria. The aircraft had departed from Salzburg W. A. Mozart Airport (LOWS) for a personal flight under visual meteorological conditions. The pilot and the sole passenger on board sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Austrian government. The Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authority of Austria has assumed responsibility for the inquiry.
