Incident Overview
A solo private pilot was landing a tailwheel-equipped airplane on a rural grass runway. The runway measured 1,000 feet in length. At the midpoint of the runway, the airplane was still airborne. The pilot reported that he chose not to execute a go-around because of trees and power lines located at the departure end of the runway. The aircraft subsequently impacted obstructions at the end of the runway while still moving at approximately 20 mph.
Aircraft Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to both wings, the right aileron, and the upper fuselage. No other damage items were reported.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical problems with the airplane. The airplane was operated under solo private pilot privileges.

The surface was a rural grass runway. The operation took place during a landing attempt.
