Incident Overview
On October 29, 2012, at 1300 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 172N, registered VH-TKI, operated by a private individual under Australian civil regulations, collided with a wire while on approach for landing near Ballarat Aerodrome, Australia.
Damage and Injuries
The aircraft sustained substantial damage. The pilot and one passenger suffered serious injuries. Another passenger was fatally injured.
