Accident Sequence
During a night visual approach to an asphalt runway, the pilot reported adding engine power after noticing the flight controls felt mushy. The airspeed was approximately 85 knots with full flaps deployed. The airplane remained in ground effect longer than usual before touching down. Upon touchdown, the airplane bounced, causing the propeller to strike the runway surface. The airplane then porpoised but eventually came to a stop.
Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the engine mount structure and support assembly.
