What happened
On January 16, 2013, at 0759 UTC, an Agusta A109E helicopter, registration G-CRST, was performing a personal flight from Redhill, England, to Elstree, England. During the flight, the aircraft struck a crane near Vauxhall Bridge in Central London, England. Following the collision, the helicopter impacted the terrain and a post-impact fire occurred.
The accident resulted in two fatalities: the pilot, who was the only person on board the aircraft, and one person on the ground. Visual meteorological conditions were present at the time of the accident.
