Accident Summary
A pilot reported that during the landing approach, wind conditions were light and variable. As the tailwheel-equipped airplane touched down, it pitched up, causing the pilot to lose directional control. Despite corrective control inputs, the airplane departed the runway and struck a fence and a rabbit hutch. Subsequently, both wings hit the ground, resulting in structural damage to the wing spar, fuselage, and tail section.

The pilot stated that there were no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The airplane was equipped with a tailwheel configuration.
