What happened

On March 21, 2026, at approximately 10:23 mountain daylight time, a Cessna 150G, registration N6305S, was involved in an accident near Ellicott, Colorado. The flight was being operated under 14 CFR Part 91 for personal use.

The pilot had completed a preflight inspection, an engine run-up, and taxied onto the runway for departure. According to a witness, the pilot intended to perform takeoff and landing maneuvers for currency. While the initial departure toward the south appeared normal, the aircraft disappeared behind a hangar. When the aircraft became visible again, it was on an easterly heading with an approximate 60-degree left bank.

The aircraft subsequently impacted the ground while in a wings-level attitude. The wreckage came to rest on a northeast heading, approximately 100 feet before the departure end of the runway and about 500 feet left of the centerline. The impact resulted in substantial damage to the fuselage, empennage, and both wings. The pilot sustained one serious injury.
