Incident Overview
On 29 April 2013, National Airlines Flight 102 (callsign NCR102, registration N8102) crashed within the perimeter of Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. The aircraft, a Boeing 747-400 freighter, had just taken off from the airfield and was operating a cargo flight from Camp Shorabak near Lashkargah to Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai, with a planned refueling stop at Bagram. All seven individuals on board were killed in the accident.
Flight Details
The flight originated at Camp Shorabak, a military base in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, and was scheduled to land at Bagram Airfield for refueling before continuing to Dubai. After departing Bagram, the aircraft crashed within the airfield's perimeter, resulting in a total loss of the aircraft and the lives of all seven occupants.
Investigation
The investigation into the accident was conducted by Afghan authorities with assistance from the United States and other international agencies. The crash site was secured, and the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were recovered. As of the final report, no probable cause for the accident has been publicly stated.
