What happened
On June 4, 2013, a Stinson 108, registration N677JD, was performing a landing on grass runway 18 in Lebanon, Indiana. During the landing roll, the aircraft swung to the left. The pilot attempted to correct the movement by applying right rudder and braking, but the aircraft departed the runway and nosed over in a muddy field adjacent to the runway. The accident resulted in no injuries.
The investigation
Examination of the aircraft revealed that the left wing strut was bent. The pilot reported that there were no mechanical anomalies present with the airplane at the time of the accident.
