Accident Details
On September 15, 2013, at approximately 1530 Eastern Standard Time, an Australian-registered Cessna 206, registration VH-WAV, impacted terrain about 95 miles southeast of Croydon, Queensland, Australia. The airplane was destroyed, and the pilot and passenger sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is conducting the investigation into the accident. As the State of Manufacture of the airplane and engine, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the ATSB in its investigation.
