Notification
The Russian Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) Accident Investigation Commission informed the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving a Boeing 737-500. The accident occurred on November 17, 2013. The NTSB received this notification and subsequently took administrative steps to participate in the investigation.
Investigation Participation
The NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the IAC in its investigation. This appointment was made under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which enables the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane to contribute to the investigative process. The IAC is the lead investigating authority for the accident.
Information Release
All investigative information regarding the accident will be disseminated by the IAC. The NTSB, as a participating state, will receive updates and findings as they become available through the established channels.
