Accident Overview
On 22 March 2014, at approximately 1126 coordinated universal time, a Glasair II FT airplane, registration D-EJFN, crashed shortly after takeoff from Lanzen-Turnau Airport in Turnau, Austria. The aircraft was occupied by a pilot and a passenger, both of whom sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The accident is under investigation by the Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authority of Austria. In accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has appointed an Accredited Representative to assist in the investigation.
