Accident Details
On December 27, 2014, at approximately 1240 UTC, an Aerospatiale AS350B helicopter, registration PT-HNC, struck trees near Rio-Santos in Bertioga, Brazil. The helicopter was destroyed upon impact, and an explosion occurred when it contacted the ground. The pilot and four occupants, all passengers, suffered fatal injuries.
Aircraft and Operator
The helicopter was a single-engine Aerospatiale AS350B equipped with a Roll-Royce engine. It was registered to and operated by Helimarte Taxi Aereo under a commercial air transport permit for domestic non-scheduled passenger flights.
Flight Information
The flight originated approximately two minutes before the accident from Iporanga-Guaruja Heliport (SDIX) in Guaruja, São Paulo, Brazil. Its intended destination was Imigrantes Heliport (SDEY) in Diadema, São Paulo. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. Information regarding a flight plan is not known.
