On December 28, 2014, an Airbus A320-216, registered as PK-AXC, was involved in an aviation accident in Pangkalan Bun, Indonesia. The accident resulted in 162 fatal injuries.
What happened
Following the occurrence of the accident, the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) of Indonesia notified the NTSB. Because the aircraft's engines were manufactured in the United States, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the NTSC investigation in accordance with ICAO Annex 13.
