Accident Details
The pilot reported that he was conducting his first flight in a light-sport weight-shift control aircraft that he had purchased about one month prior. During the takeoff roll, he inadvertently applied a right steering control input. He then over-corrected to the left, causing the left wing to contact the ground. The aircraft subsequently rolled over onto its left side, resulting in substantial damage to the wing and fuselage.

The pilot stated that he did not experience any preaccident malfunctions or failures that would have precluded normal operation. He reported approximately 1,200 hours of total flight experience, including about 1,000 hours in similar weight-shift control aircraft.
