What happened
On August 8, 2015, at 1505 UTC, a Cessna 402B, registration HK-4990, operated by AeroExpress, crashed near Vereda Guarigua Cajica, Cundinamarca, Colombia. The aircraft had departed from Guaymaral Airport (SKGY) in Bogota for a local training flight.
Approximately 22 minutes after takeoff, the crew declared an emergency, after which all contact with the aircraft was lost. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were within visual meteorological limits (VMC) with a visibility of 6 statute miles and winds of 000 degrees at 02 knots.
Following a search operation, the wreckage was discovered near a residence. The impact resulted in 3 fatal injuries to the occupants of the aircraft. No injuries to persons on the ground were reported.
