Accident Details
On August 14, 2015, at approximately 1055 coordinated universal time, a Robinson R-44 helicopter with Russian registration RA-04339 sustained substantial damage after colliding with a light pole. The event took place shortly after the helicopter departed from a mountainous landing area in the Sakha Republic, Russian Federation. According to preliminary information from the Interstate Aviation Committee, following departure, the helicopter initiated a left turn and struck a light pole approximately 6 meters in height. Subsequently, the helicopter impacted the ground, rolled onto its right side, and a post-impact fire occurred. The pilot received fatal injuries, and the two passengers were injured. The flight was conducted under Russian flight regulations.
