Event Description
A pilot reported an accident that occurred during the final approach phase of flight. While on short final, approximately 20 feet above the ground, the pilot observed that the aircraft's attitude appeared abnormally flat. Shortly thereafter, the airplane lost altitude rapidly, leaving the pilot insufficient time to react or take corrective actions such as lowering the nose or increasing power. The aircraft subsequently struck the ground, causing substantial damage to the left wing.
