Accident Description
On September 26, 2015, a Trendak Tercel gyroplane, registered as A11-DUN, crashed after departing from an airfield near the city of Odorheiul Secuiesc in Harghita County, Romania. The specific time of the accident was not reported. The gyroplane was occupied solely by the pilot, who sustained fatal injuries. The aircraft impacted terrain and came to rest.
Investigation
The Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Center (CIAS) of Romania has jurisdiction over the investigation. As the state of design, the United States has designated an accredited representative to participate in the inquiry, in accordance with Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
