What happened
On June 23, 2016, at approximately 2259 UTC, a Liberty XL-2 aircraft, bearing registration HR-HZT, was involved in a fatal accident near La Lima, Honduras. The aircraft, which was operated by Horizontes Flight School, was performing a takeoff following a touch-and-go landing at Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport (MHLM).
During the maneuver, the aircraft impacted the roof of a house located in a residential neighborhood. The flight was a non-scheduled instructional flight conducted under day visual meteorological conditions. The instructor pilot and the student pilot on board sustained 2 fatal injuries.
