What happened
On July 17, 2016, at approximately 1951 UTC, a North American Aviation T-28B aircraft, registration C-GKKD, crashed near Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada. The aircraft was being operated by a private individual while performing aerobatic maneuvers as part of an airshow at the Cold Lake/Group Captain R.W. McNair Airport, located roughly 7 nm southwest of Cold Lake.
During the maneuvers, the airplane impacted the terrain. The impact resulted in the destruction of the aircraft and 1 fatality involving the pilot.
