Accident
On July 31, 2016, at 2357 universal coordinated time, an Embraer EMB820C (Piper PA-31-350), Brazilian registration PT-EFQ, was destroyed when it impacted a power line and terrain following a loss of power in the left engine. The accident occurred while the aircraft was on approach to Londrina Airport, located in Londrina City, State of Paraná, Brazil. The flight had originated from Marechal Rondon International Airport in Cuiaba, Brazil. On board were two foreign certificated pilots and six passengers; all eight occupants sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The investigation into this accident is under the jurisdiction of the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center (CENIPA) of Brazil.
