What happened
On August 27, 2016, at 10:47 local time, an XtremeAir XA-42, registration N344XA, was performing an aerobatic maneuver during an airshow near the Zhangye Ganzhou Airport in China. During the maneuver, the aircraft collided with the ground. The aircraft was operated by Southern Aircraft Consultancy Inc. under the civil regulations of the government of China.
The collision resulted in 1 fatality for the pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
