What happened

On December 21, 2016, an ElAl Boeing 767-30 0ER, registration 4X-EAM, was climbing through 13,000 feet after departing from Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in Toronto, Canada. During the climb, the aircraft's right-hand engine, a Pratt & Whitney PW4000 turbofan, suffered a loss of power.

This engine failure resulted in vibrations and a yawing motion of the aircraft. Passengers reported seeing fire emanating from the engine. The crew subsequently shut down the engine, and the aircraft returned to land at YYZ without further incident. There were no injuries resulting from the event.
