What happened
On January 5, 2017, at 14:20 UTC, a Cessna 172S, bearing registration PR-GRS, was involved in an accident during an approach to the Tangara da Serra Airport (TGQ) in the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The aircraft had originated its flight from Adalberto Mendes da Silva Airport (CAC) in Cascavel, Brazil.
While attempting to land, the aircraft struck high-tension power lines, resulting in substantial damage to the plane. The accident resulted in 2 fatalities and 2 serious injuries.
