What happened
On June 23, 2017, at approximately 0645 UTC, an MD Helicopter 500E, registration SX-HBB, was involved in an accident near Schinias Marathonas, Greece. The aircraft was performing a recreational local flight that had departed from a heliport located at the Schinias Marathonas rowing establishment.
During the flight, the helicopter struck a power line and subsequently impacted the terrain. The accident resulted in 2 fatalities and 1 serious injury. The occupants included the Greek certified pilot and two passengers.
