Accident Overview
On August 10, 2017, at approximately 0320 Coordinated Universal Time, an Air Tractor AT-502B airplane, registration C-FWAS, impacted terrain while conducting an aerial application repositioning turn near La Crete, Alberta, Canada. The pilot sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a US accredited representative to assist the TSB in its investigation.
