The flight originated from Simón Bolívar International Airport (SVMI) in Maiquetía, Venezuela, and was en route to General José Antonio Anzoátegui International Airport (SVBC) in Barcelona, Venezuela. The aircraft impacted the water under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with visibility reported at 9999 meters.
There were 5 fatal injuries among the two pilots and three passengers on board.
