What happened
On September 20, 2017, at approximately 20:36 EDT, a Cessna 150J with registration C-FHPU crashed into Lake Huron. The aircraft was performing a cross-country flight from Brampton-Caledon Airport (CNC3) in Caledon, Ontario, en route to Goderich Municipal Airport (CYGD).
The accident occurred approximately 1.1 nautical miles west of the Goderich airport. The flight was operating under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with winds from 090 degrees at 4 knots. The crash resulted in 2 fatal injuries to the pilot and the passenger.
