What happened
On October 6, 2017, at approximately 1530 UTC, a Zlin Z-50L, registered as ZS-VAR, crashed in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. The aircraft was performing a personal flight and had departed from Kitty Hawk Airport (FAKT) shortly before the accident occurred.
During the flight, the aircraft impacted terrain, which resulted in the destruction of the plane. The pilot sustained 1 fatal injury. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were characterized by visual meteorological conditions (VMC).
