On February 11, 2018, an Antonov An-148 aircraft, registration RA-61704, was involved in an accident in Argunovo, RS. The accident resulted in 71 fatalities and no other injuries.

What happened

Following the occurrence of the accident, the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) notified the NTSB. Because the manufacturer of the aircraft's avionics is a U.S. entity, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the MAK investigation in accordance with ICAO Annex 13.
