Accident Overview
On September 27, 2018, at 0626 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 208B airplane, registration VH-FAY, vanished from radar while cruising over international waters. The location was approximately 185 kilometers northeast of Narita International Airport. The aircraft had departed from Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, and was destined for Sapporo, Japan.
Wreckage and Injuries
Parts of the destroyed airplane were later located and recovered from the ocean. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the event.
