Incident Notification
On December 11, 2018, a serious incident occurred involving an Airbus A330-223. The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) of Belgium subsequently notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the event.
Investigation Involvement
In accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the AAIU in the investigation. This appointment is based on the United States being the State of Manufacturer and Design of the engine installed on the aircraft.
Information Release
The AAIU has stated that all investigative information related to this serious incident will be released by their office. Further details regarding the circumstances of the incident have not been disclosed by the investigating authorities at this time.
