What happened

On January 21, 2013, at approximately 2012 UTC, a Piper PA-46-301P, registration N264DB, disappeared from radar 15 nautical miles north of Guernsey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom. The aircraft was performing a personal flight from Nantes Atlantique Airport (LFRS) in France to Cardiff Airport (EGFF) in Wales.

At the time of the disappearance, the flight was operating under night, visual meteorological conditions. The aircraft is believed to have crashed into the English Channel and is presumed destroyed. There were 2 fatalities among the two persons on board.

On January 22, 2019, a search of the area located aircraft debris floating on the surface of the English Channel, approximately 15 miles east of the location where radar contact was lost.
