Incident Overview
A student pilot was practicing takeoffs and landings in a tailwheel-equipped airplane. During one landing, the pilot reported a hard touchdown with a "big bounce," causing the right wing to rise. In response, the pilot added power and initiated a go-around. The airplane subsequently ground looped, departed the runway, and came to rest inverted.
Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the right wing.

The pilot stated that there were no preimpact mechanical failures or malfunctions that would have prevented normal operation of the airplane.
Weather Conditions
The automated weather observation station at the airport, approximately 15 minutes after the accident, reported wind from 300 degrees at 2 knots and visibility of 10 statute miles. The airplane was landing on runway 26.
