What happened
On June 2, 2019, at 0440 UTC, a Grumman AA-5B aircraft, registration C-GQIJ, was involved in a fatal accident in Alberta, Canada. The flight departed from Medicine Hat (CYXH) as a VFR flight. After the aircraft failed to arrive at its intended destination, a search was initiated.
The aircraft was located approximately 17 nautical miles east of Medicine Hat (CYXH) following a collision with terrain. The accident resulted in 3 fatal injuries, involving the pilot and two passengers.
