Accident Details
At approximately 0440 UTC on June 2, 2019, a Grumman American Aviation AA-5B airplane, registration C-GQIJ, was found after it had collided with terrain under unknown circumstances. The aircraft was conducting a visual flight rules (VFR) flight and had departed from Medicine Hat Airport (CYXH), Alberta. When it failed to arrive at its destination, a search was initiated. The wreckage was located approximately 17 nautical miles east of Medicine Hat.

The aircraft was a Canadian-registered Grumman American Aviation AA-5B, serial number not specified. It was operated by a private individual. On board were the pilot and two passengers. All three occupants sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
