Accident Overview
On July 26, 2019, at approximately 2130 coordinated universal time, a Sikorsky S76 C+ helicopter, registered as EC-JES, impacted terrain at Vigo Airport (LEVX) in Vigo, Spain. The accident is under investigation by the Comisión de Investigación de Accidentes e Incidentes de Aviación Civil (CIAIAC), the Spanish authority for civil aviation accident investigation.
Investigation
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist in the investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13. The CIAIAC has jurisdiction and control over the investigation. Further information regarding the accident may be obtained from:
