NTSB Appoints Representative for 2019 Boeing 737 Incident in South Africa

Incident Notification and Investigation Role The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of South Africa notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an incident involving a Boeing 737 aircraft that occurred on August 20, 2019. In response to the notification, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the CAA of South Africa with its investigation. This appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs international accident and incident investigations. ## Information Release The CAA of South Africa is designated as the authority responsible for releasing all investigative information related to the incident.
