What happened

On June 23, 2024, at approximately 19:42 PDT, a Cessna 182A, registration N4059D, was involved in an accident near Spokane Valley, Washington. The aircraft was being operated under 14 CFR Part 91 for personal use.

The pilot departed from Moose Creek USFS Airport (1U1) in Idaho at approximately 18:30, intending to fly to Felts Field Airport (SFF) in Spokane. When the aircraft was roughly five miles from Felts Field, the engine lost power. The pilot subsequently performed a forced landing into an open field.

During the landing, the nose gear and the right main landing gear collapsed. The aircraft came to rest in an upright position. There were no injuries reported among the pilot and three passengers. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
